The #1 Kids Bike Library, Ukraine

The first kids’ bike library “B.Book” will allow almost half a million children in Kyiv to read books outdoor. Initially, Helen Doron students collected 300 books. We announced our reading events in social media public groups, local news & events calendar sites and local radio. Finally, in three parks we read aloud in English, played games based on the plot of books and made bookmarks with nearly 100 children. We continue to collect books in the HDE LCs and plan to spread the magic of reading in all Kyiv parks.

Leave the Phone, Take a Book, Slovakia

We approached 25 kindergartens, 37 schools, local library, 250 HD students to “Leave the Phone and Take a Book”. The idea was to send a photo with a reading project about reading an English book. It was promoted via Facebook, emails, leaflets and yH lessons. We collected more than 290 photos and projects. The highlight was a “Book Heroes Carnival”. We are so happy that our participants put away their phones and started reading books instead. We awarded them by YH certificates, Dragon Tales and ABC cards. Together, we made a change and we will continue doing so!
