Background and Goals - part 10

Test 6 was again a team game in which an individual in a team was told a word such as cow. As a result he/she must say I am a cow and act like one, i.e. moo, to show that he/she understands the meaning. Teachers reported that this was again difficult to note the marks down while applying the test. Also some children, notably the older grades, felt this was childish. The test received an assessment of 2.5 for ease of giving it and 2.3 for the children liking it.

Tests 7 - 12 are already testing material learnt in Unit 2. The test are a repeat of the formulas from the previous tests of Unit 1, tests 1 - 6.

Test 7 was a repeat of the formula of tests 1 and 2. It received a slightly higher assessment from the teachers than its counterparts tests 1 and 2. The test received an assessment of 2.9 for ease of giving it and 3.0 for how the children received it.

Test 8 was a repeat of the formula of test 3. However, it received a lower assessment than its counterpart. The reason given for this by some of the teachers was that in test 3 the children were asked to circle a picture. But in test 8, they were asked to put a square round certain pictures. Although this was supposedly demonstrated before the test to the children, the instructions were felt to be more complicated, and therefore the test less easy to give. The test received an assessment of 3.3 for ease of giving it and 3.4 for how the children received it.

Test 9 is a repeat of the formula for test 4. Again, a great diversity of teacher reaction. Again, in general difficult to administrate but great fun for the children. However, this time, a few teachers mentioned uncooperative children. The test received an assessment of 3.3 for ease of giving it and 3.4 for how the children received it.

Test 10 is a repeat of the type of test of Test 5 - picture description privately with just teacher and one child. Teachers that the children had gained more confidence as compared with their reaction to test 5, and their assessment shows this. The test received an assessment of 2.8 for ease of giving it and 3.4 for how the children received it.
